What a great time I had being interviewed by Bill Ross of Simplified Digital about SEO (AIO, AEO, GEO, etc.*) and how businesses can show up when people are searching for what they offer. Fun times we live in.
Here's a summary:
Be everywhere online and increase your brand's authority to dominate your market.
Leverage AI to scale your content creation and marketing efforts, produce more quality content faster.
Focus on EEAT (Expertise, Experience, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) to improve search visibility and credibility.
Engage with communities like Reddit to build trust and showcase your expertise.
Audit your content strategy and ensure your website is optimized for both traditional search engines and AI tools.
Create valuable content and ensure it's easily accessible to LLMs (Large Language Models) to boost visibility.
Use AI to refine your strategy and identify quick wins and long-term opportunities.

For the song of the day...
I've spoken about the Colectiv tragedy , and if you don't know anything about it, a club caught fire during a concert 10 years ago. Too many people died. It was a club I used to hang out at and played as a DJ many times. I say it wasn't my shift that night; it was my colleagues'. 64 of my colleagues. Only the vocalist from the band that headlined the show made it. And among 10 other artists that survived the tragedy, they put together two songs to commemorate the decade that passed.
I asked Kevin from Organic Growth to curate the news for our newsletter. Curious to know what your thoughts are - hit reply to let us know what kind of news you'd like to see here.
That simplistic perspective may obscure what matters most. For the past few decades, Google algorithm updates have pushed us all toward quality content and topically relevant links. In a way, GEO is the mother of all algorithm updates.
When you click on links in AI summaries or overviews, you find information-rich citation-worthy webpages. It seems what Google has been attempting, GEO is requiring. Someone said AI search is not the death of SEO, rather it's the next era. I think they're right.
The thing I like most about this headline is the word "cite". In the AI era, citations are replacing links, and the sooner SEOs understand that, the better they'll be able to serve their clients.
Yes, but that's not what this post/article is about. FWIW, my prior example of flatness was southern Saskatchewan, but only because I had yet to visit West Texas.
This is about the OpenAI data center being built in Abilene. Fun facts:
Total cost $500 Billion
Size: 3,000,000 square feet
People employed for it's construction: 7,000
Powered by: 10 35MW natural gas electricity plants being built to power it.
Maybe a better question would be "Is it true the GDP of the USA is almost fully due to the AI data center buildouts?", and the answer to this question also appears to be yes.
Yes, but in a very different, and I suggest more important way. Quantity is giving way to relevance. You need to start thinking in terms of "citations" rather than "links", with the understanding that citations ARE links, but highly relevant links.
